When Svitzer outgrew its existing Mews Road office, the business needed a workplace that could better support collaboration, operational requirements and future growth. The relocation to Level 1, Marine House provided an opportunity to bring the team together on a single floor while creating a workplace tailored to both day-to-day operations and specialist training needs.
Facilitate was engaged as the independent project management partner for the relocation, overseeing the delivery of a workplace that balances functionality, brand presence and employee experience. The new environment features a predominantly open-plan layout, incorporating a 24-hour Operations Centre, dedicated training facilities and Simulator rooms that support Svitzer’s operational requirements.
A key focus of the project was creating a strong first impression. The front-of-house experience, meeting rooms and boardroom spaces were designed to reflect Svitzer’s brand identity while providing a professional setting for both staff and visitors.
Careful workplace planning maximised access to natural light and harbour views, with the social hub positioned to take advantage of direct access to the external balcony. Quiet Rooms were also incorporated throughout the workplace, providing dedicated spaces for focused work and supporting a variety of working styles within the open-plan environment.
The result is a practical, people-focused workplace that brings the Svitzer team together in a single location while supporting operational performance, training and collaboration.
