The Trade Desk Sydney Case Study
Facilitate were engaged to deliver The Trade Desk’s first Australian office at 9 Castlereagh Street in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The Trade Desk (TTD) is a fast-growing, global technology company that empowers buyers of advertising. Above all else, TTD prioritise their people and culture. The values they share as a company — including grit, generosity, and openness — are at the heart of who they are, define how they do business, and are reflected in their workplaces.
Located on the top floor, one of the unique features of the space is the outdoor terrace area. The design maximizes the connection between indoor and outdoor with the staff hub adjacent to the terrace. The office is a very social environment and TTD often entertain clients in this space. The 650 sqm fitout is predominantly open plan with a mix of formal meeting spaces and informal open collaboration spaces in the social hub.
Facilitate proactively worked out early calculations of the condenser water required. Through creative problem solving and negotiations with the landlord, Facilitate identified a number of options to increase the condenser water allocation which resulted in an additional unit on the building’s roof at minimal cost to TTD.
The Facilitate team understood TTD’s fitout requirements and implemented a solution tailored to the Australian market with locally sourced furniture and finishes. The successful delivery of the Sydney project has led Facilitate to work with The Trade Desk in Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong and most recently on their next Sydney project. TTD continues to be recognized year after year as one of the best places to work by numerous organizations and media outlets.
